# AI that prepares the work for your review

AI in Rutledge does the preparation so professionals can spend their time on judgment. It reads documents, drafts, researches and prepares actions. A person reviews and approves what matters. Every AI task runs through one service, so each cost is tracked to the firm and the task.

## Documents read, then confirmed item by item
Upload a tax form, a statement, a policy or an application, and AI reads it. Each extracted item appears next to the place it came from. A person confirms or corrects each item before it enters the record. Nothing read by AI becomes a fact until someone confirms it.

## Drafts written for review
AI drafts client emails, meeting summaries, letters, briefs and marketing posts. Drafts stay drafts until a person edits and approves them. Messages and content send or publish only with approval, and marketing goes only to people who gave consent.

## Research that quotes the exact source
Research answers cite the exact text of the governing source, never a paraphrase. Each answer shows the passage it relies on, so you can read the source before you rely on the answer. When the sources do not cover a question, the answer says so.

## Agents act through approved tools
Agents work only through approved tools. Reading a record, preparing a draft, sending a message and changing a record each have their own permission. Actions that matter wait for a person's approval. Every step goes into a tamper-evident log that shows what was proposed, who approved it and what happened. Some actions are never available to an agent, and professional responsibility always stays with the professional.

## Numbers come from dedicated calculation tools
Plans, tax returns, insurance needs and portfolio analysis use dedicated calculation tools with structured inputs. AI can explain a result or prepare the inputs, but it does not invent the numbers. When a calculation cannot be done with the facts provided, the tool says why instead of guessing.

## See where every fact came from
Each fact shows who supplied it: you, the assistant, an example or a placeholder. A fact the assistant filled in shows what it assumed. A fact read from a document names the document and the line. Each result shows the facts it used and the version that worked it out. When a return cannot be worked out, it says which fact is missing instead of guessing. Research cites the exact text.

## Data handling follows the task
Client information goes only to AI providers under zero-data-retention terms. Other information is routed separately. Each task uses only the information it needs. Provider retention terms are separate from the records Rutledge keeps for your work, such as saved conversations, professional records and delivered documents. A provider's non-retention does not erase them. [Review Security & Control](/trust).

## The assistant on this website
[The product assistant](/assistant) answers from this site's published material. It cannot see client records or start a subscription. Do not enter client information or confidential matter details. Questions and answers may be saved and used to follow up with you. Typing **human** opens the contact page; it does not start a live chat.

## Talk to a person
[Talk with us](/contact) to discuss coverage, a result you want to check or the controls your practice needs. The website assistant does not give legal, tax, investment or insurance advice.
