# Review the controls around advisory work

Use your firm's obligations and recordkeeping policies to evaluate the platform's controls. Software features support a program; they do not determine whether a firm has met every obligation.

## Information sharing
Examine the client authorization, scope and recipients for a collaboration. Review which household facts and delivered documents are accessible, and which private work remains within the engagement.

## Review and records
Check how proposed plan changes, communications and professional decisions are reviewed and recorded. Confirm the supported capture sources, retention periods, export formats and any gaps for your intended services.

## Decisions and execution
Analysis does not itself place a trade or authorize a transfer. Confirm the boundary between preparing a recommendation, reviewing it, receiving a client's decision and any separately authorized action.

## Evaluate your practice's requirements
[Talk with us](/contact) about your requirements and read [Security & Control](/trust). Review the service scope and operational responsibilities alongside your firm's policies.
